Crémant: For something a little more budget-friendly than Champagne, but still wanting that fantastic sparkling wine, then look to a Crémant. Crémant is a French sparkling wine made in other regions of France aside from Champagne. I personally like a good Crémant from the Loire Valley; a touch sweeter than Champagne, it goes perfectly with a light appetizer.
Prosecco is one of the most renowned Italian sparkling wines; it has a light flavor and fruity taste along with refreshing bubbles. The prosecco would be perfect in case the glass of wine needed to get a party started. It would be perfect to mingle with old friends and meet new ones.
Cava: This is Spain's version of Champagne. Produced by the same traditional method that is used in making Champagne, Cava is a delicious yet affordable option. If you are looking for a sparkling wine with a little more complexity, then Cava is a very good option. You will find citrus, apple, and brioche notes there.
Sauvignon Blanc: It's a classic white for good reason. Sauvignon Blanc has a crisp, clean taste and refreshing flavor. I love the Sauvignon Blanc New Zealand, with bright acidity and citrus flavors-hints of gooseberry and passionfruit, respectively. If you were looking for something a little lighter and more economical towards the white wine front for New Year's Eve parties, Sauvignon Blanc would be good.

Pinot Grigio: Another very light, refreshing white wine, Pinot Grigio is perfect for a summer evening but also quite appropriate for any New Year's Eve party. I just love the freshness and crispiness of Pinot Grigio and how well it goes with almost anything you will have on the table. If you want something easy to drink and versatile, Pinot Grigio will do.
Albariño: Originally from Spain, this white wine has recently gained quite a popularity boost. The brightness of its acidity and the vivacity of its fruit make Albariño perfect for hot-weather gatherings. You can even find it in a sparkling version! I love the grassy notes in Albariño; it reminds me of a beautiful spring day.
Viognier: This white French wine is famous for its floral scents and rich, complex flavors. I love the fruity almost tropical notes of Viognier, which are perfect for a festive occasion. Should one want a full-bodied and flavorful white wine, then Viognier is the perfect choice.
Chardonnay: This is a very versatile white wine that is made in several styles. I love a good oaked Chardonnay-so buttery and vanillary. Chardonnay just screams New Year's Eve party-it is so elegant, and goes so well with such a wide range of food choices.
