This simple flaxseed smoothie is my favorite way to kick-start the day. It's packed with nutrients, super quick to make, and tastes incredible. I created this recipe after a particularly rough morning (let's just say my usual coffee habit had backfired) and I needed something healthy, energizing, and super fast to make. This smoothie is the perfect solution for those moments when you need something both nutritious and totally delicious.

One of my friends, Sarah, told me how much she loved this smoothie after a tough hike up a mountain. She said it was the perfect way to replenish her energy and recover after such a challenging physical activity. That's my type of friend; they inspire me!

I've also tweaked it a few times to make it even better. I've tried adding other ingredients like spinach for a green boost, but it was a little too earthy for me. You really need to tailor it to your own taste, though. So, take my words with a pinch of salt; you do you! Find what works for you and what you enjoy.

📖 Instructions

  1. First, gather your ingredients! Make sure you have everything measured and ready to go to make this super easy. Trust me on this one--prep makes everything smoother (pun intended!).
  2. Next, add the flaxseeds to your blender. I usually add about 1 tablespoon, but hey, feel free to adjust to your liking. More flax = more Omega-3s, right? So load up!
  3. Then, add your milk. I prefer almond milk, because, honestly, it tastes amazing, but use whatever you like. Cow's milk works perfectly, too. I've even used soy milk before, no problems there.
  4. Now, add your frozen banana. Frozen is KEY here—it gives the smoothie that perfect thick, creamy consistency. If you only have fresh bananas you can add some ice, but you might need a bit more milk to get it to the right consistency. Try this and let me know how it goes!
  5. Give it a whirl! Blend everything together until it's completely smooth and creamy. If it's too thick, add a little more milk. If it's too thin, add a few more frozen banana slices. Seriously, trial and error is your friend.
  6. Finally, pour your smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately! You could also add a few fresh berries for garnish. A little extra flair can never hurt! Or you can just drink it straight away. It's delicious either way. I hope you love it as much as I do, this is honestly my go-to morning smoothie! Let me know what you think!

📝 Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding honey or maple syrup to taste.
  • For a thicker smoothie, use less milk or add a few ice cubes.
  • Feel free to experiment with different fruits and vegetables!
