📖 Instructions

  1. First, prepare your chocolate. Chop it into small, roughly equal-sized pieces. This helps it melt more evenly. If you're using a double boiler, fill the bottom pan with about an inch of water and bring it to a simmer over medium-low heat. Don't let the water boil or your chocolate might scorch!
  2. Place your chopped chocolate in the top part of the double boiler or in a heatproof bowl set over the simmering water. Now, the patience game begins. Stir gently and frequently with a whisk, allowing the chocolate to melt slowly and completely. Resist the urge to rush; it’ll make all the difference!
  3. Once the chocolate is almost entirely melted, stir in the heavy cream. This will create a smooth, luxurious consistency. Continue to stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is silky smooth, like molten velvet, you know?
  4. Now for the fun part: arrange your favorite dipping items around your fondue pot, and get ready to indulge. Remember to use fondue forks or small skewers so you don't scratch your pretty fondue pot.
  5. Once everything is ready, place the fondue pot on a heat-resistant mat or trivet. I learned that the hard way— trust me, it’s not pretty!
  6. Serve immediately. The ideal temperature is slightly warm, not hot. Too hot and it'll melt your dipping treats too quickly, too cold and it'll be a bit unappetizing. Find a happy middle ground. Ok?

📝 Notes

  • For a sweeter fondue, use milk chocolate instead. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract for extra flavor. Experiment!
  • For a smoother texture, use a double boiler. If you don’t have one, you can improvise using a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water. Be careful not to let the water touch the bottom of the bowl!
