This weekend, I went out with my friends to the park. We laid out a blanket and just relaxed outside. But let's be real-the best part? The food! That's what picnics are about, right? I love wraps because they are portable, easy to eat, and you can put almost anything in them. That's why I want to share with you today some of my favorite picnic wrap recipes. Fasten your seatbelts for flavor explosions!

The Mediterranean Marvel

This wrap screams summer with fresh flavors. I like using whole wheat tortillas for a bit of added fiber, but use what you like.

  • Hummus-I love the Saffron Road brand
  • Sliced cucumbers and tomatoes
  • Crumbled feta cheese-don't skimp on this!
  • Kalamata olives, halved A sprinkle of dried oregano

Slather the hummus onto the tortilla. Add the veggies, feta, and olives on top. Sprinkle with oregano. Roll it up tightly and enjoy! Refreshing, light, and completely satisfying. And super easy to make ahead of time, making it a fantastic choice for busy individuals like myself!

Spicy Southwest Sensation

For a little kick, this wrap is Southwest-inspiration. I'm telling you, this one's a tastebud adventure!

  • Black bean and corn salsa-I always purchase store-bought to save time!
  • Shredded chicken or tofu-I do both, and boy, they taste just great, surprisingly
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Avocado slices
  • A dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • A dash of your favorite hot sauce-I am a huge fan of Cholula

Spread the salsa on the tortilla, followed by a layer of chicken or tofu, cheese, and avocado. Top with a dollop of sour cream and a dash of hot sauce. Roll it up tight-nice and tight, that is; this is the part that gets messy, so be prepared! The sweet corn, spicy salsa, creamy avocado, and tangy sour cream? Perfect. For real.

The Classic Caprese

Simple, elegant, and oh-so-delicious. This is a crowd-pleaser for a reason. Even the pickiest eater will love this one, promise.

  • Fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • A drizzle of balsamic glaze
  • A pinch of salt and pepper

Layer the tortilla with mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roll it up carefully, the tomatoes being a bit juicy. Refreshing and light for a hot summer day, indeed. The balsamic glaze adds sweetness, which turns out to contrast beautifully with the savory mozzarella and tomatoes.

Wrap Tips to Keep Perfect Picnics:

  • Smart Pack: Fold them away from the sauce and dressing areas, preventing them from softening in moisture. Individually wrap them in foil or parchment.
  • Keep it cool: Keep the wraps in an insulated bag or cooler, fresh and ready to eat. Food poisoning will surely put a damper on the greatest picnic ever.
  • Get Creative With Fillings: Be not afraid to experiment and push the boundaries. Try leftovers of roasted veggies or meats, grilled ones, and a classic combo like peanut butter and jelly-it would all taste amazing within this wrap. Be a bit adventurous!
And there you have it-three of my go-to picnic wraps. I hope this inspires you to try some out yourself. What are your favorite picnic recipes? Let me know in the comments below! Happy picnicking!
