  5. Stir in 1 (14.5 ounce) can of diced tomatoes, one cup of chicken or vegetable broth and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  6. Add 1 pound of chorizo sausage (removed from casings and crumbled if necessary). Cook for about 5 minutes, breaking up the chorizo with a spoon, until it is nicely browned and the fat is rendered. Yum!
