A Sweet Start

Let me tell you, folks, I'm not a morning person. Like, really not a morning person. But lately, I've been craving something creamy, dreamy, and oh-so-delicious to kickstart my day. And that's where my Peanut Butter Smoothie comes in. It's not just fuel; it's pure morning joy-or afternoon pick-me-up, let's be real. I even talked my friend Sarah-a self-described 'coffee-or-bust' kinda gal-into trying it. Well, let's just say that she is now a complete convert!

This is not a typical smoothie; there's a secret weapon that actually elevates this above any other. (Read to the end to find out!)

The Creamy Dreamy Ingredients

Okay, let's get down to brass tacks. Here's what you'll need for my amazing peanut butter smoothie. I use pretty simple stuff, but the quality makes a difference, so don't skimp!

  • 1 frozen banana (the riper, the better – trust me on this one!)
  • 1/2 cup milk (almond, soy, or regular – your choice!)
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter-smooth or crunchy, whichever you like. For me, it is smooth.
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup to taste - sweeten to your heart's desire
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract - really brings the flavour
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon-optional, because warm and cozy
  • Optional: A handful of spinach (I sneak it in for extra nutrients-you won't even taste it!)

The Secret Weapon: Ice Cubes!

Yep, that's right! Don't you dare belittle the little things like ice cubes inside your smoothie. They are pretty essential for getting the just-right creaminess and really make a difference between great and thin/watery. I usually use about 4-5, but use as many or as few as needed to get desired consistency with your blender and taste preference. And by the way, if you are left with some of the smoothie, freeze it in ice cube trays and afterwards use to make some really awesome smoothie popsicles.

Blend it Like a Boss

Now, the fun part! Throw all your ingredients-yes, even those sneaky ice cubes-into a blender. Give it a good whirl until you get the consistency you like: smooth and creamy. If it's too thick, just add a splash more milk. If it's too thin, just add a couple more ice cubes and blend again. There is no right or wrong here-just make it the way you like it! That's the beauty with this recipe!

Pro-tip: If you’re having trouble getting everything to blend completely, scrape down the sides of your blender a few times during the process.

The Grand Finale: Enjoy!

Pour your creamy dreamy peanut butter smoothie into a glass. Take a sip and feel that delightful chill. Seriously, this is a perfect treat, especially on a hot day or if you need a little pick-me-up! I like to garnish mine with a sprinkle of extra peanut butter or maybe a few sliced bananas – because why not?

So, what are you waiting for? Give this a try and let me know what you think! Show me your smoothie masterpieces on Instagram; I wanna see them! #CreamyDreamyPeanutButterSmoothie
