Visualize a bowl of fresh berries complete with whipped cream for a quick and scrumptious dessert. No guilt here! ???? Dark chocolate includes more than 70% cacao. This amazing food has a high level of antioxidants and will keep your mood high. Having only a tiny piece will keep those sweet cravings away without getting you out of track. Almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and flax seeds are nutrients in superfoods that can be lumped into another category. They contain healthy fats, fiber, and vitamin E in great amounts. They will keep you satisfied and fuller, which is really great when holiday treats are everywhere. A small handful of nuts can offset sugary snacks. They will also help you regulate your blood sugar for more consistent energy levels. Leafy Greens: Seriously, don't forget the spinach, kale, and other greens that give so much in the way of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. They are an extremely good source of magnesium, considered to be a mineral that helps relax muscles, reducing stress. Add some leafy greens to your holiday salad or make a smoothie with spinach-they're delicious, and it's a great way to get your fix of superfoods! Salmon: This fish contains a great deal of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for brain health and mood regulation. They contain vitamin D, too, which helps improve sleep quality, something very important during the holiday season. You could bake salmon with some herbs and spices to get a delicious healthy meal.
