1. First things first, gather your ingredients and equipments. It's always a good idea to prepare your workspace, too. Less chaos, more fun!
2. Chop up your cookies. I like to aim for bite-sized pieces – roughly 1/2 inch. You want them small enough to be fully coated, but not so small that they disappear into the fondue!
3. If using a double boiler, fill the bottom pan with an inch or two of water and bring to a gentle simmer. If using a heatproof bowl and saucepan, make sure the water level doesn't touch the bowl.
4. In the top pan (or bowl), combine the chopped cookies, heavy cream, and chocolate chips. Whisk gently to combine everything evenly.
5. Place the double boiler over the simmering water (or use low heat if you're using the saucepan method). Stir frequently until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth, about 5-7 minutes. It's important to stir consistently to prevent burning, and to make sure the cookie bits melt beautifully.
6. Once melted, remove from heat. This is when things get exciting – the dipping begins!
7. Place your melted cookies and cream chocolate fondue into your fondue pot or a heatproof bowl. Arrange your dippers around the pot and get ready for the deliciousness.
8. Dip away, my friends! It's all about enjoyment, creating memories, and of course, the taste of pure, blissful indulgence. Share with friends, family, or just have it all to yourself! I won't judge...much.
9. If the chocolate starts to cool and thicken, you can always gently reheat it on the stovetop or in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds at a time, stirring well in between. Don't overheat or it'll become grainy again!
10. Now, go forth and fondue!
