📖 Instructions

  1. First things first, let's melt that chocolate. Chop up your chocolate into small pieces - smaller pieces melt faster, like magic! Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water (a double boiler is ideal). Make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water, otherwise you risk burning your chocolate. We don’t want that, now do we?
  2. Next, gently stir the chocolate as it melts, ensuring everything melts evenly. If you see lumps, don't panic! Just continue stirring gently until they disappear. This is where patience comes in. Don’t rush this step; otherwise, you'll risk scorching it.
  3. Once the chocolate is completely melted and smooth, remove it from the heat. Now, in a separate bowl, whip your heavy cream until it forms soft peaks. Don't over whip it, or it'll turn into butter. We want those soft peaks that are, dare I say, delightful.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the melted chocolate. Be very careful to fold gently to retain the airiness of the whipped cream. Think of it as a delicate dance, each movement full of love and precision. Don't just mix it vigorously – fold, darling, fold!
  5. Once everything is nicely incorporated, the mixture should be thick, but fluffy. If its too thin, let it rest for a few minutes; it will thicken as it sits. Too thick? Add a wee bit more cream, and stir gently.
  6. Now comes the fun part, assembly! If you're serving it as a fondue, transfer the mousse to your fondue pot or a heatproof bowl. Keep it warm over low heat if you desire. If not, just pour the mousse into small ramekins or glasses.
  7. For dipping options, the world is your oyster! Fresh fruit (strawberries, raspberries, bananas, all of it!) are delicious dipped in this fondue. Also, try some pound cake, angel food cake, even cookies would work! Oh, and don't forget about marshmallows!
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy the amazing experience! Each bite is pure joy, pure indulgence, pure deliciousness. Trust me, this is heaven in a bowl (or pot). You'll find yourself wanting more and more. Enjoy every single moment!

📝 Notes

  • Use good quality chocolate for the best results!
  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of your favorite liqueur to the melted chocolate before adding the cream.
  • Serve warm for a true fondue experience!
