I developed this recipe after a particularly hectic week where finding time for a proper breakfast was like finding a needle in a haystack. Overnight oats became my saving grace, and this cranberry orange version quickly became a favorite! I love how the tartness of the cranberries perfectly balances the sweetness of the oranges, creating a delicious and refreshing start to the day. The prep takes only 5 minutes and the result is something truly marvelous. Let me tell you, it makes the taste worth it. It really does.

📖 Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats, flax seeds, and a pinch of salt. Give it a quick stir to make sure everything is evenly mixed.
  2. Add the orange zest and cranberry sauce. Stir until the cranberry sauce is well incorporated into the oat mixture.
  3. Pour in your milk of choice. Use a spoon or fork to fully combine all the ingredients. It's ok if there are still some visible pieces of cranberry in there. It's going to be delightful.
  4. Stir in your sweetener of choice, whether it's maple syrup, honey, or your preference. Adjust the amount to your desired level of sweetness.
  5. If using yogurt, gently fold it in at the end. Be careful not to overmix and lose the lovely texture.
  6. Divide the oat mixture into your chosen jars or containers. You want them to be about ¾ full.
  7. Seal the jars tightly and refrigerate them overnight, or for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld. I know it's hard to wait, but trust me.
  8. In the morning, grab a jar from the fridge, give it a gentle stir (because things might have settled) and enjoy immediately. Or, if you're feeling fancy, top with extra fruit or nuts before diving in. You deserve it!

📝 Notes

  • For a creamier texture, use a thicker milk like whole milk or coconut cream.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of sweetener to your liking.
  • If you like a chunkier texture, you may want to reduce the amount of milk slightly.
  • Make sure your cranberry sauce isn't too runny or it may make the oats too wet. A thicker sauce is usually best
