These fruit kebabs are the perfect summer treat! They're super easy to make, incredibly refreshing, and totally customizable. Plus, they look absolutely gorgeous – perfect for picnics, parties, or even a simple afternoon snack. I was inspired to create this recipe after a friend's summer barbecue where we had the most amazing fruit skewers. I wanted to recreate that taste and experience and share with all of you.

📖 Instructions

  1. First, gather your fruit! I like to use a mix of colors and textures for visual appeal. Strawberries, blueberries, grapes, kiwi, and bananas are all fantastic choices. Wash everything thoroughly and pat it dry. Remember, presentation is key!
  2. Next, cut your fruit. Aim for bite-sized pieces that are easy to thread onto the skewers. It's okay if they aren't perfect, that's part of the charm! I usually cut my strawberries in half, and bananas into 1-inch thick slices, and so on
  3. Now, start assembling your kebabs. Get creative with the arrangement. I love alternating colors and textures, like a strawberry, then a grape, then a kiwi, creating a fun and visually appealing pattern.
  4. Once your skewers are assembled, grab a small bowl and melt your chocolate. You can use any type you like – milk chocolate, dark chocolate, even white chocolate! I find that microwaving is the easiest method. Just chop it up and put in a microwave safe bowl and heat in short bursts, stirring in between until smooth.
  5. Once your chocolate is melted, carefully drizzle it over your kebabs. Make sure to distribute the chocolate nicely, so you get an even coating, then let the drizzle set, which takes approximately 10 minutes.
  6. Finally, arrange your kebabs beautifully on a plate or platter and serve. You can even add a sprinkle of extra chocolate shavings or some fresh mint leaves for an extra touch of elegance. Enjoy your delicious and delightful fruit kebabs!

📝 Notes

  • For best results use fresh, ripe fruit. If your fruit isn’t quite ripe enough you can try leaving it out at room temperature to allow it to ripen naturally before making your kebabs.
  • Adjust the quantity of chocolate to your liking
  • It's always nice to have some extra fruit on hand for assembling the skewers. Sometimes you want to change up your assembly pattern midway!
