1. First, gather your ingredients and equipment. Make sure your cocktail shaker and glass are chilled for optimal refreshment. This step is super important, trust me!
2. Next, gently muddle a few fresh thyme sprigs in the bottom of your cocktail shaker. Don't over-muddle or you'll end up with a bitter drink. We're just releasing the essential oils.
3. Add the sliced peaches to the shaker. I like to use about 2 to 3 small, ripe peaches. If they're too hard, your drink might taste a bit bland. You've been warned!
4. Measure out 2 ounces of vodka (or gin—your preference, really!) and add it to the shaker. If you're feeling fancy, you can even use a flavored vodka. Oh, the possibilities!
5. Now, add the lime juice (about 1 ounce) and simple syrup (3/4 ounce). Taste the simple syrup to make sure it's to your liking, you can adjust the sweetness later!
6. Fill the shaker with ice cubes. Make sure to pack it tightly; this is key to proper chilling and shaking!
7. Secure the shaker lid firmly and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. We need a good mix of all the flavors.
8. Strain the mixture into your chilled highball glass filled with fresh ice. Use a fine-mesh strainer to catch any rogue peach bits or thyme.
9. Garnish with a fresh thyme sprig and a peach slice. There, you did it! Pat yourself on the back, you fabulous mixologist, you!
10. Finally, sip, savor, and enjoy the delightful Peach Thyme Fizz. It’s summer in a glass—or maybe just spring, depending on your mood. Either way, you’re amazing.
