This Beer Pretzel Breakfast Casserole has been the breakfast you didn't realize you were craving. Begin your day with the savory scent of toasted pretzels, sausage, and melted cheddar cheese. It's a flavor explosion of cheese, sausage, and pretzels that's stupid easy to prepare. The salty pretzels, meaty sausage, and decadent cheese all combine with the bitter taste of the beer to create a unique, well-balanced experience. I devised this recipe following a rather rowdy night out (oops!), and had something that I needed to absorb the excess alcohol. I actually cooked this, and it was a big hit with my mates. It's that good, it's now our weekend breakfast casserole staple. I hope you like it as much as we do.
This is an ideal recipe for brunch gatherings, weekend brunches when you just don't feel like getting off the couch, or just when you feel like a comforting and filling meal. It'll be a hit. I swear, it's that good, I've begun making half batches on workdays for breakfast. Why must breakfast be dull? I mean seriously, beer in breakfast casserole?! Genius!
This Beer Pretzel Breakfast Casserole is a surprisingly delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines the savory flavors of sausage and pretzels with the subtle bitterness of beer. It's perfect for brunch, lazy weekend mornings, or any time you're craving a unique and satisfying breakfast.

📖 Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. This is crucial for easy removal later. Trust me on this one!
In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, crumbled pretzels, and shredded cheddar cheese. Make sure to get a good mix going—we don’t want any lonely sausage bits or pretzel pieces!
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, beer, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. This is where the magic happens. Don’t skimp on the Worcestershire!
Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and pretzel mixture. Stir gently to combine. Be careful not to overmix, or you might end up with a mushy casserole (Nobody wants that)!
Pour the entire mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly with the spatula. You’re almost there!
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and set. Keep an eye on it—every oven is different, so check for doneness about 5 minutes before the recommended time. You don’t want to burn your masterpiece!
Let cool slightly before serving. This helps to set the casserole and make it easier to serve. Serve warm and enjoy! (Maybe with a mimosa or two?)
📝 Notes
Feel free to adjust the amount of beer to your liking. More beer = more flavor (and possibly a stronger kick!).
For a spicier casserole, use hot sausage or add some red pepper flakes.
If you don't have cheddar cheese, you can use any type of cheese you like. Monterey Jack, Colby, or even a Mexican blend would be delicious!
